Couch to 5K - Week 2 Day 2!

Today was a pretty decent day. I slept in a bit. I went to work at the theatre for a bit, then I joined my coworkers from my full time job to go do some stained glass stuff. It was a lot of fun to make my own stained glass piece, but man was it difficult! I was not very good at it. But I made a nice little hummingbird. I've been thinking a lot about my mom lately. I'm not sure why. I think it's because one of the reasons I've started down this fitness path is because of my health. My blood pressure has started reading pretty high lately and I'm trying desperately to get it back down to more normal numbers  without having to get on medication for it. My mom always had super high blood pressure. I was actually born a few weeks early via C-Section because she had such bad hypertension. She always said it would be a heart attack or a stroke that killed her, and she was right. I know that she wouldn't want that for me, so I've been channeling her love and her strength to push myself through this workout routine every other day. I've been trying to make better eating choices (though lets be real, sometimes its super hard). But my mom always really loved humming birds, so I worked as hard as I could on it to make it pretty. I wasn't the best at stained glass making, but I think it turned out pretty well (See the picture below!)

Now onto the workout! I got home from the stained glass project, walked my dog, and then got changed and went over to the workout room to do my jog since it was cold and dark outside. Fortunately no one else was in there so I was able to unplug my headphones and just set my phone in the cupholder and blast it loudly. I did the Week Two routine like I did on Friday (alternating between 90 seconds of jogging and 2 minutes of walking) and I found it actually came pretty easy for me. I'm still not sure if I'm going to need to repeat any of these days from this week. We'll see how Tuesday goes when I do Day 3 of the 2nd week. But I was really super stoked because I've had the Justin Timberlake song "Can't Stop the Feeling" stuck in my head like a broken record for the past week or so, and so I put it on my workout playlist. I got through almost the whole workout and it hadn't come on yet and I got a little sad. But then just before the 6th and last jogging session it came on, so I'd like to think I ended the workout on a high note!

Anyway I have a few more things I need to get done before I hit the bed and get rested up to go back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!

Blessings and Later Days!
